The Insights Conference 2016 aims to provide a mix of practical and theoretical knowledge to an audience hungry to learn. The conference will take place over two days and will include workshops and talks by world-class founders who will share their startup experience and expertise with our audience. The Insights Conference will take place on 19th-20th November 2016 at the Bank of Cyprus Corporate Headquarters, Nicosia, Cyprus.

Over the past four years, we introduced the first hackathon in Cyprus. We went from teaching people in Cyprus about the meaning of the word "hackathon", to being the organisers of the most anticipated weekend of hacking on hardware, mobile and the web.

For our 5th anniversary, we are revisiting CUT where it all began! Come join us for a celebratory hackathon where you'll get the chance to tinkle with awesome hardware, meet techies like you from all around Europe, build awesome stuff and of course have some birthday cake!

Speed Dating is an efficient professional networking event that enables participants to make new contacts through one to one focused conversations lasting just 5 minutes.

«Business Meets IT» aims to bring together business owners (start-up or not) with IT specialists (mobile & web application developers, game designers and programmers, system architects, designers and analysts) in order to find suitable partner(s) for their business development.

Join us this Friday 3rd October and get to hear Giorgos Zacharia, CTO of Kayak, where he will take us through the experiences at Kayak and discuss about the fusion of data driven technologies and business.

Background Information on the speaker:
Giorgos Zacharia is the CTO of KAYAK. Prior to that he was Chief Product Officer and oversaw the company's global technology strategy and product development for KAYAK's websites and mobile applications. He joined the company in 2008 as Chief Scientist. Prior to joining KAYAK, he was co‐founder and CTO of Open Ratings, Inc., a leading supply risk management provider. Giorgos also co‐founded two machine‐learning driven hedge funds, Stocknomics and Emporics Capital Management.

He holds four math and computer science degrees from MIT, including a PhD, won five medals in the International Mathematical and Physics Olympiads and was a Fulbright Scholar.

You should know already that registration seats for the first Code School were gone in 30 minutes! You should also know that demand for this event was so high that the waitlist had enough students to have another full event.

The student's need for this event inspired us so much that we decided to have a second Code School at English school for all students who could not attend the first one!!!
The second Code School will happen on Saturday 26th April 2014 at the Lloyd's building at English School.

This event is for all students who registered on the waitlist and is by invitation only.

Our guest speaker, Josh Dvir is the founder of Tooveo and an experienced software developer with 8 years of experience in a all web technologies including Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Linux, Mysql etc.

This workshop will teach you how to create a simple blog application using Ruby on Rails, this will be a full development cycle from creating a git repository to opening an account in Heroku.com to deploying your application to a production server.
